Overview
You will gain a base knowledge, understanding and practical skills to administer basic First Aid. Delivered over one day, assessment is by practical assessment and a short written examination at the end of the course.
This qualification will have an expiry date of 3 years. An annual refresher is also recommended.
During the Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) programme, you will learn:
1. The role and responsibilities of a First Aider
2. Assessing an accident
3. Managing an unresponsive casualty
4. Managing a casualty who is not breathing normally
5. Managing a choking casualty
6. Managing external bleeding
7. Accidents and incidents
8. Managing minor injuries
This qualification is awarded by HABC.

Delivery
Classroom programme
This is a one day, classroom-based programme with practical assessments and short oral tests throughout the day.
9.00 am for coffee, 9.30 am start, 4.30 pm finish.

Assessments
At the end of the programme, you will take a 1 hour, 30 question multi-choice exam.
If you are successful in your exams, you will receive the HABC Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW).
