BPCA Registered accredited by the CPD Certification Service

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The CPD Certification Service has independently verified BPCA’s individual recognition and continuous professional development (CPD) scheme.

Independent auditors assessed BPCA Registered to the CPD Certification Service’s stringent quality processes, making Registered the only scheme in the sector to carry this mark of excellence.

BPCA joins other CPD providers such as Oxford University, The Football Association (FA), the Carbon Trust and the Royal Airforce, who all hold the accreditation.

To support the application, BPCA’s current training programmes, CPD activities and events (including PestEx seminars) have all been accredited. Attendance certificates for BPCA training and CPD activities will now carry the accreditation logo.

Three years of successes

BPCA Training and Development Manager Karen Dawes said:

“BPCA Registered was designed by pest professionals specifically for our sector.

“Our steering group was made up of members passionate about CPD and great pest management, which is why the scheme has been so successful since our launch in 2019.

“After considerable work, we now have independent recognition that our scheme is of the highest quality.

“As more and more eyes turn to the pest management sector, we believe that individual technicians and their CPD will become increasingly more important to your clients.

“If you’re as passionate about continuous improvement as we are, BPCA Registered is the right CPD scheme for you”.

After considerable work, we now have independent recognition that our scheme is of the highest quality.

A catalogue of CPD materials

Karen continues:

“The benefit of being on a scheme run by pest management companies is the sheer variety of CPD resources we can provide.

“Today, our catalogue of resources contains hundreds of free articles with CPD quizzes, assignments, toolbox talks and videos.

“BPCA produces Forums, webinars, PestEx, PPC magazine, training courses and accreditations because we can draw from the experience of our entire membership base.

“Having all our resources meet these stringent standards just goes to show that whether it’s developing a CPD scheme or producing CPD materials, BPCA is the home of pest control continuous development”.

Always adapting

Just like those on the scheme, BPCA Registered has also continuously developed.

The initial three categories were soon increased to include specialisms and the master technician levels - meaning the scheme now has nine separate cards.

BPCA Registered launched with the ability to register your own CPD in your CPD diary.

This unstructured learning means that technical meetings, field training and catching up with product suppliers can all be recorded as CPD points, reflecting the variety of ways pest professionals learn and develop.

The BPCA Registered CPD diary continues to evolve, and more developments are scheduled this year.

Having all our resources meet these stringent standards just goes to show that whether it’s developing a CPD scheme or producing CPD materials, BPCA is the home of pest control continuous development.

A range of CPD activities integrated straight into the scheme mean that points from quizzes, assignments and online learning are automatically added to your record once completed. BPCA events and training courses similarly get added to your diary seamlessly too.

This year sees the launch of digital BPCA Registered cards that effortlessly slide into your smartphone’s wallet app.

Karen said:

“Our accreditation with the CPD Certification Service is a culmination of all this work and development.

“I’d like to thank all our members who’ve suggested features and keep us continuously improving”.
