Glis Glis Pest Control Technician

Mitie Pest Control are currently looking for a ‘dedicated’ pest technician to provide general pest control services and removal of Glis glis (Edible Dormouse) to military infrastructure and its domestic housing. You will be responsible for complete a comprehensive level of accurate with detailed plan of corrective actions through proofing measures and hygiene recommendations. To undertake aspects of proofing in relation to this pest supported by specialist proofing teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for covering the High Wycombe area.

Main duties

• Inspect and record findings on customer premises on a routine/reactive basis

• Organise and undertake a programme of treatments using appropriate methods to control pests

• Install Glis control traps to highest standards and adhere with strict rules for daily checking requirement

• Write comprehensive accurate reports in compliance with Service Level Agreement (SLA)

• Record all visit information using android technology

• Maintain robust set of records detailing the number of Glis Glis caught by area/property

• Undertake skilled proofing tasks in accordance supported by specialist proofing team

• To liaise and work closely with senior members of Mitie team

• Identify new sales and additional work as opportunities arise

• Strict adherence to Health & Safety – expectation to regularly work in tight loft spaces of domestic property

•Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills• Complete MITIE eLearning Training in own time outside work hours

• Any other “ad hoc” duties as required by the needs of the business

Person Specification

• RSPH L2 qualification in Pest Management with preferably 1 years’ experience including Glis Glis control

• Good written and oral communication skills

• Ex-military preferable but not essential

• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines being flexible and adaptable when required • Ability to undertake detailed proofing tasks – practical hands on experience preferred

• Good organisational and time management skills• Ability to work on your own initiative and be innovative with methods when opportunity identifies itself• Honesty and reliability • Attention to detail

• A full driving license
