CEPA Surgery assists Local Authority and sole trader

After the North West Regional Forum, BPCA members Trafford Council and Pest in Peace got to attend one of six BPCA CEPA Surgeries that are being held this year.

CEPA surgeries are designed for BPCA members that currently hold CEPA Certified® status, or are considering the accreditation. The 3-hour workshop follows a discursive agenda and allows attendees to learn more about the standard, allowing scenarios to be explored in technical and non-technical areas. Feedback from attendees at last week’s surgery, held at Manchester Golf Club, suggests the surgery is a worthwhile few hours.

I enjoyed the CEPA workshop. It wasn’t what I expected because there were fewer members attending the surgery, than the Regional Forum. But, it was more interactive, more personal and as a result I got more from it. I learned about CEPA Certified®, and the fact that as a small company, it is well within reach. I also picked up some valuable information about marketing and communications, such as websites and promotional advertising.

Michael Lee Whitworth, Director of Pest in Peace

Attending the surgery to talk about effective Marketing and Communications, Ben Massey, BPCA Marketing and Communications Manager said:

It’s great to be able to talk to some of the organisations that hold the accreditation, or are considering it. Just like the Regional Forum’s we’re here to help, so it’s good to be able to spend some time helping members realise their potential. Natalie (Bungay), our Field Officer has worked with a number of companies to support them through this, and so anybody who didn’t quite make the surgery, either catch us at the next one or call us in the office.

Ben Massey, BPCA Marketing and Communications Manager

All CEPA surgeries follow BPCA Regional Forums, so attendees just stay on after (with lunch provided). The next Regional Forum and CEPA Surgery will take place in Glasgow on 11 October, followed by Exeter on the 18 October and Kent on 2 November. The last Surgery (and Forum) for 2017 will take place in Norwich on 5 December.
